For a unique experience of swimming in clear and cool river, near the stunning waterfalls of Skradinski Buk, head to Krka National park. This Park located in the inland of Šibenik includes almost entire Krka river and is a great place for nature and history lovers. There are several waterfalls of which the afore mentioned Skradinski Buk is the most famous and the biggest one. Apart from the nature beauties, the Park area includes fascinating sites such as Franciscan monastery located on Visovac islet, Krka monastery, remains of Burnum (Roman military camp with well preserved amphitheatre) and stone castles on the cliffs above the river. Situated on a south east part of Dugi otok island, Telašćica Nature Park is a place where in a relatively small area one can find diversity of geological formations, landscape and beauties. It is also a great destination for daily boat trip.Telašćica bay is the safest natural harbour on this side of the Adriatic. It is very large and comprises several coves and small islets. The other locations in the Park are interesting as well. There is salt lake called Mir which gets its water from the sea through narrow underground channels in the rocks. On the side of the island facing the high seas, steep cliffs form the coast that plunge vertically into the water and create dramatic scenery. If you are an animal lover, prepare for the donkeys as there is a sanctuary for these lovely creatures that made a great impact in life of ordinary Dalmatian people.
